Mencap Advance: preparing for work

Mencap Advance enables people with a learning disability to develop the skills they need for the workplace.

Mencap enables people with a learning disability to develop the skills they need to make their experience of work happy and fulfilling such as personal presentation, decision-making and managing responsibility, as well as training for specific career choices.

Mencap Advance is a stepping-stone service to build personal confidence as well as key skills such as:

- personal presentation

- decision-making

- managing responsibility.

It also provides training for specific career choices.

Like all Mencap services, the emphasis is on supporting individual choice and giving people the chance to learn in realistic situations as preparation for real, paid jobs where their contribution is valued.
