Partnership working

By working in partnership, Mencap offers services that go further towards meeting the individual and specialist needs of people with a learning disability. 

For example:

• In partnership with City & Guilds Mencap developed accredited qualifications to meet the unique needs of people with a learning disability.
• Mencap West Midlands teamed up with Autism West Midlands and Bid Services with Deaf People to offer deeper and broader support.
• Working on a pilot project with the National Institute of Continuing, we are exploring how training in skills for life (communication, literacy and numeracy) can be embedded in all the services we offer.
• By working with other campaigning organisations such as the the British Association for Supported Employment and the Royal National Institute for the Blind, we have a stronger voice on issues such as equality of access to employment.

Mencap welcomes opportunities to bid jointly for new business as lead partner or sub-contractor.

We are well-positioned to provide services to national and regional organisations. For example, we work in partnership with a large number of national charities and training providers to deliver training and work opportunities for people disadvantaged in the labour market and we have a national agreement to provide job coaching and support to Remploy.
