The individual needs of people with a learning disability are at the heart of everything we do and we understand that no two people's needs are the same. Mencap continuously explores ways in which the services we provide and the ways they are delivered can be improved. We do this through our comprehensive continuous improvement framework. We advocate for and design new services to provide the support people with a learning disability need to help them take their place in society as equals.
An important part of our continuous improvement framework are our best practice standards that reflect the things that people tell us are most important to them in supporting them well. These assist us in meeting or exceeding the standards required by the regulatory and inspection bodies that oversee our work and we use these to measure and improve our own performance within our internal service review process.
Our extensive experience of providing a range of services to a wide and growing number of people has given us the opportunity to develop our thinking and expertise around innovation in service design and delivery working in partnership with others.
